The first thing to mention is that the noncompetitive format is different than decades past. There are no ranking with regards to first, second, third. Instead groups are judged against a score rubric that looks something like this: gold: 95-100 silver: 90-94 bronze: 85-89 honorable mention: 80-84
So multiple groups can receive each "award".
The outstanding musicianship awards are the same- 5 per division. But they've added an award called the Dale Hoff award, which designates the most outstanding individual musicianship of the division.
All groups received a I, except Somes Sound, who received a 2.
All groups received an award: Big Group: Silver Somes Sound: Honorable Mention Silent Oxen: Bronze Richard: Bronze Chainsauce: Silver Funky Dow: Bronze
Finally, the musicianship awards- these results are so awesome. I still can hardly believe it: Multi-combo A: Outstanding Musicianship Awards to: Camden Garland on piano and guitar Emily Homer on trumpet
Multi-combo B (received 4/5 awards in this division!) Outstanding Musicianship Awards: Irene Choi on trombone Ben Watson on bass Chase McGee on bass Matt Cox on tenor sax Dale Hoff Award (TOP outstanding musician)
Multi jazz bands: Outstanding Musicianship Awards: Tristan Higgins on drums
Division 3 big bands:Outstanding Musicianship Awards: Ben Watson on guitar Dale Hoff Award to Ben Hagle on trumpet
