23 September: PEP BAND TONIGHT, BE THERE AT 6!!
21 September: We are looking for more people to play bass for jazz. Remy will teach you. If you play bass and want extra help, sign up. If you play trumpet and want to also play bass, sign up. If you want to learn about bass fishing, email me. 21 September: Folks interested in jazz, please fill out the interest survey on the jazz portion of our website. We are fielding interest now to ballpark how many groups we think we might offer and to figure out if we need more directors on staff. Fill it out! Tell your friends! I'd love to see a lot of new faces in the jazz program!
20 September: Four things: 1) documentary is posted. 2) there's a sign up on the bulletin board for folks that interested in doing jazz combo gigs this year 3) there's a sign up for jazz all state in the hall- make sure that if you are planning to audition, that your name is on that last.
18 September: Pep Band this Friday!! Be there at 6pm, be prepared to be picked up around 9 (you never quite know when the game will end but it's somewhere in there). For folks still needing pep band shirts, they are $8 and are available to purchase now- see Remy!
15 September: Ellsworth Community Music Institute has an opening for an older student volunteer who might wish to earn community service hours one afternoon each week at our registration desk in the atrium (large room inside the entrance to the Moore Community Center). Duties will include greeting parents and faculty, accepting payment from parents or other adults, etc. Typically, the hours would be from 2:00 until 6:00. http://www.ellsworthcommunitymusic.org/
14 September: Thank you to those who came to the parent meeting! If you didn't have the chance, we are excited to have a handbook for you to check out! It's a working draft. Throughout the year if you find places where things should be edited or sections should be added, please let us know! The handbook is the second item in the menu. It is expected that every member of the music program understands the material in the handbook! When there are edits, they will be posted in this section of the website!
13 September: Music Parent Meeting tonight, 6pm in the music room- will be short but juicy! Come and get the scoop for 2016-2017.

9 September: WELCOME BACK! We are off to a great start! Music Department parent meeting/open house on Tuesday, September 13 at 6pm! Hope to see you there!
1 September: Band folks, bring your instruments on day 1!! There is pep band this Friday, September 2. Freshman need to bring $8 to buy a shirt on Friday. Arrive at 6pm. For football pep band, we play pregame, timeouts (sometimes...), half time and at the end of the game. We estimate that the average football game is over between 8:45-9PM. Students should be picked up shortly afterwards. This game will be televised! Tell your friends.
