The Music Boosters offer opportunities for high school students to earn money for their personal music accounts. Students who participate in fundraising opportunities like the Citrus Sale or the Coffee Sale can earn money for their own personal music account.
Students with a balance in their accounts can request funds to pay for private lessons, instrument upgrades or repairs, spending money on an upcoming trip, purchase of a pep band t-shirt, and other approved expenses. If a student chooses not to participate and earns no money for his account, when it is time to pay for an event such as overnight expenses at the State Jazz Festival, the family will be responsible for payment. If you have any questions about what qualifies as an eligible purchase, your music teacher can provide further clarification and has authorization to approve other related music activity expenses.
For student instrument purchases, the Music Boosters will provide matching funds. We require that the students must be in high school and they must contribute an equal amount of funds from their own student Music Booster account. The music boosters will match the student contributions up to a total of $1000 per student over their 4 years of high school. One or multiple purchases may be made with matching funds, but the total in matching funds may not exceed the $1000 limit.
The Music Boosters will review all submissions quarterly with funding decisions made and presented in September, December, March, and June. In order to be considered for funds for the upcoming quarter, you will need to complete the form linked below BEFORE the music booster meeting on each of the above months (currently the first or second Wednesday of the month).
